Moleskin Notebook

Thunder & lightning rolled continuously in the distance. I recognized my mortality in the silver reflection of an 18-wheeler's mud flaps. All the while, I barreled down the 2-lane blacktop with boot pedal to the metal speeding towards the destructive end.
Past the fence that I painted as a boy, toward the dirt road I hunted Easter eggs on and ending in the pasture where oil derricks once pumped plenty of money from the ground. When I arrived the smell of rain and peppermint greeted me ...
Fore, this was the End Of The Road.
