Andy's Bar/New Book Cover Sneak Peek:

Andy's Bar/New Book Cover Sneak Peek:

Didn't realize I was playing with the O's last night that was cool. Also, here is the cover for my new book "Drinking The Kool-Aid" . The preface was taken from a letter my uncle wrote me a few months ago from prison. I sent him a copy and am awaiting a letter back from him with permission to publish it. When I get that it's off to the printer WOOT. I hope you all are as excited as I am.

Daniel Johnston/My Lost Poster/Dick Johnston/No not a porn:

Daniel Johnston/My Lost Poster/Dick Johnston/No not a porn:

So, Well over a year ago I ordered this poster (I love it ) from Aesthetic Apparatus and sent it to the address listed on Daniel Johnston's website for him to sign and return. Needless to say and despite including return postage and addy label and everything I have yet to receive this poster back from Waller, Texas where Daniel lives. So, a week or so ago I got a little pissed about it and wrote a series of very nice e-mails to various folks listed on Daniel 's website. This weekend I got a an e-mail response from Daniel's brother Dick Johnston
Here is the e-mail in it's entirety:

Thanks for your email. I thought we had posted info about this, but anything sent to Dan's P.O. box address will be picked up by Daniel himself. He WILL get it, he WILL read it / listen to CDs / watch videos sent, etc., but to my knowledge he have NEVER responded to any mail received at that P.O. box. I've heard him tell people he'd write back should they write, but I know for a fact that he doesn't. He just doesn't have the personal where-with-all and discipline to follow through on anything like that.

Unfortunately, people often send things that they expect a response to, and it just isn't going to happen. I'm sorry if you sent something you wanted returned, because it is not likely that I'd ever see it or find it. I'll mention this to my sister in case she's seen something out there, but he won't know what he's done with it, and it likely has disappeared into the abyss of his cluttered house.

Sorry. Thanks for writing Daniel, though.

RIP Jay Reatard

Jay Reatard: RIP buddy. Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr. (May 1, 1980 – January 13, 2010), better known by the stage name Jay Reatard
Saw him last month at the Granada and it was the shit. Told my buddy "We have to see this show because this guy is a maniac and he may be dead soon." Wish I wasn't right.
Update: Here is a last clip of his last headlining show here in Dallas on Dec 10 2009. I'm glad I caught it.

It Pays To Look Weird

Marfan's Syndrome:
Marfan syndrome is a disorder of connective tissue, the tissue that strengthens the body's structures. Disorders of connective tissue affect the skeletal system, cardiovascular system, eyes, and skin.
People with Marfan syndrome are usually tall with long, thin arms and legs and spider-like fingers -- a condition called arachnodactyly. When they stretch out their arms, the length of their arms is much greater than their height.

Bradford Cox:
Apparently one of my favorite new artist could have Marfan's Syndrome. Bradford Cox's music is amazing. He is in Deerhunter and the Atlas Sound. Hailing from Athens, Georgia this guy seems to be amazing cool and talented. I love his shit. FYI! If you look up here on the inter-web you can find a bunch of his free shit to download including a new year's eve 2009 show. But most def go buy his album too.
With Love,
Aaron Barker
